About Prof. Shim

Joon Sub Shim received his BS in dual major of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) in 2004, and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 2010. During his Ph.D. study, he joined the BioMEMS laboratory and conducted research under the research guidance of Prof. Chong H. Ahn. After receiving his Ph.D. degree, he undertook a project at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) to develop an integrated DNA analyzer using micro/nano biochip technology. He is currently a full professor in the Department of Electronic Convergence Engineering, Kwangwoon University, where he is researching next-generation micro/nano technologies for bio and energy applications.
